First Church is looking for a reliable person for assisting with the hospitality and cleaning of the facility providing a safe and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff.

This position will be responsible for cleaning and stocking restrooms, general sweeping, cleaning, mopping, sanitizing, and vacuuming of the facility, and taking out the trash to ensure that the building and grounds are clean and presentable. This position will help ready the building for worship or events by opening the building, and preparing clean and safe entrances by picking up litter, putting out signs, and shoveling sidewalks and steps in winter, and making sure that the building is secured and locked at the close of the event. This position will also assist as needed with set-up and take down of equipment, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, AV equipment, risers, lecterns, and decorations for events.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, and exhibit positive interpersonal skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize, and display enthusiasm for the church and its mission.

Additional Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

• Positive interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities, all levels of socioeconomic status, gender identities, and sexual orientation.

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

• First Church is a drug-free workplace, and applicants must pass a drug test prior to employment.

Reports to Food Service and Cleaning Coordinator. On the job training will be provided, as necessary. Pay commensurate with experience.

Required Hours:

• Sundays 8am-1pm

• Monday through Thursday evenings 4 hours per day

Additional Hours Available:

• Various events requiring staff may occur throughout the year including but not limited to weddings, funerals, memorial services, and concerts

FLSA: Hourly non-exempt

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Every weekend
